Bequest types often include:

Planned Giving

Planned giving refers to charitable donations arranged in advance, often as part of a donor’s financial or estate planning, to benefit the organization at a future date.

Deferred Giving

Deferred giving involves a commitment to donate assets or funds at a later time, typically upon the donor’s passing, ensuring long-term support for the organization.

Charitable Remainder Trusts

These trusts allow donors to receive income during their lifetime, with the remainder of the trust’s assets going to the organization after the donor’s death.

Gift Annuity Agreements

A gift annuity is a contract where a donor gives a lump sum to the organization in exchange for guaranteed, fixed lifetime payments, with the remaining funds supporting the organization.

Pooled Income Funds

These funds combine donations from multiple donors, paying each donor an income proportionate to their contribution, with the remaining assets eventually benefiting the organization.

401k's

Donors can designate the organization as a beneficiary of their 401K retirement account, transferring funds to the rescue tax-free upon their passing.

Real Estate

Donors can gift real estate directly to the organization, providing a significant asset that can be used, sold, or developed to support its mission.

Collections

Donations of collections, such as art, antiques, or other valuable items, can be sold or used by the organization to generate funding or enhance its facilities.
