Recently, Sarge’s Animal Rescue celebrated 21 years of helping dogs and cats find and keep loving homes. While there have been many changes over the years, one thing has not changed: our commitment to providing care for as many animals as possible. As we expand, we want to ensure that everyone is aware of some of the services we provide.

Community Pet Food Pantry: Our pet food pantry is pet food distributed to community members through the generosity of other community members. We don’t take this lightly. As the economy presents a multitude of challenges, neighbors helping neighbors is what moves us forward. For those struggling right now, ensuring their pets are fed is one less burden to bear. The pantry is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11 - 4. We gratefully accept donations of pet food. Cat food is especially needed at this time.

Community Cat Shelters and Dog Igloos: As cold weather draws near, adequate shelter for  outdoor animals becomes more critical. Our team is gearing up to build community cat shelters to be distributed as winter heads our way. We would appreciate donations of totes with lids so that we can make as many cat shelters as possible. In addition, dog igloos are also needed for distribution. Both types of shelter require straw for insulation, which is preferred over hay or blankets. If you have extra hay, we appreciate any donations of that as well.

Haywood Spay and Neuter (HSN): We are excited to announce that HSN is now located at Sarge’s. Other than location and hours, the service remains unchanged. Scarlette will still be there, working her magic to make affordable spay and neuter surgeries more accessible to as many as possible. HSN also provides low cost flea and tick prevention, along with dewormer.  HSN is open Monday-Saturday from 11- 4.

All services and donations take place at Sarge’s Animal Rescue, 256 Industrial Park Drive, Waynesville. Donations are much appreciated, and can be made or mailed to our physical location, or online at sarges.org.

Last but not least, thank you to our donors, volunteers, fosters, and the entire community for your continued support of Sarge’s! We couldn’t have made it this far without you.
