Roxy’s Back—And Still Full of Love to Give
After 319 days in our care, Roxy found her forever home in June. She had her people. She had her soft bed. She had love.
But sometimes life takes turns no one can prepare for.
Roxy is back with us—not because of anything she did, but because her beloved owner is facing serious health challenges and could no longer care for her. It’s a heartbreaking situation, and one we’ve seen before: Roxy originally came to Sarge’s as a puppy and was adopted into a loving home. In July 2024, after her first owner experienced similar health issues, she returned to us for the first time.
Both of Roxy’s families loved her deeply. Circumstances—not lack of commitment—brought her back through our doors.
Now 6.5 years old, Roxy is once again looking for a home—and we’re committed to giving her the very best shot at lasting success.
Roxy is a bulldog mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. She thrives in a home environment. She’s housebroken, crate trained, knows her basic commands, and loves being near her people. She’s the kind of dog who finds joy in the little things—snuggles on the couch, a toy to toss around, a person to follow from room to room.
She’s affectionate with humans of all ages and does best when she’s the center of attention. Roxy would prefer to be your one and only—she is reactive to other dogs and becomes easily overstimulated around cats and animals nearby. Because of this, she’ll need to be the only pet in the home.
The good news? She’s not in this alone. The Sarge’s team has been actively working with Roxy on behavior support and medical care to help her feel more confident and regulated. And thanks to the generosity of the winner of our recent 50/50 raffle, which ended July 31st, Roxy now has even more tools for success. That winner kindly donated their earnings to fund continue additional behavioral training with local trainer Caitlin from Behavior Tails. This support will help Roxy build on her progress and give her the structure she needs to thrive in her next home.
Roxy might not be the right dog for every household—but for the right person, she’ll be an endlessly loyal, loving, and entertaining companion. She has so much love left to give—and she’s more than ready to share it.
