Slumber Pawty 2024 Re-Cap

Slumber Pawty Success

We did it, everyone! In just 3 weeks, we raised over $24,000 for Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation so we can keep helping dogs and cats find loving homes here in Haywood County, NC, and beyond.

Thanks to 240+ donors, we exceeded our goal for the 2024 Slumber Pawty.

This year’s Shelter Slumber Pawty at Sarge’s was PACKED with fun events like a kick-off pack walk followed by pie-ing our Executive Director Jessie Metcalf and WLOS New Anchor Megan Danahey to raise money, putting our Board President Windy McKinney in a 10 x 10 cage until she raised $2,000 (which she reached SUPER fast!), cat tarot, a cold laser treatment party sponsored by Heal House Call Veterinarians Dr. Matthew Parisi & Dr. Jordyn Sthay, dog and cat paintings with a live auction that raised nearly $300, a super special guest Judi who came to give our cats fun enrichment time, a super fun participant dog cookie vs human cookie taste test and MORE!

Sarge’s has been a WNC staple for nearly 20 years, finding homes for over 11,400 animals in need. This is our passion, our cause, and our purpose. And we get to keep helping MORE animals because of the love you show us at events like this!

We want to thank all of our amazing local Slumber Pawty sponsors: WLOS News 13, Mid American Group, Sunshine & Sugar Bakeshop, Smoky Mountain Bakery, Animal Hospital of Waynesville, Bojangles, The Sweet Onion, Heal House Call Veterinarians Jordyn Sthay & Matthew Parisi, Times Square Bagels, & Mast General.

And of course a massive shout out to our national sponsors Purina and Adopt a Pet. Without you, this whole event wouldn’t even be possible.

PLUS all the 25+ local stores, shops, restaurants, and breweries who let us put up fliers the week before

And wow, a BIG thank you to all of our Pawty Participants!!!! You made the 24-hour lock-in more fun and full of life than we could have ever imagined. This is one moment in time we will never forget.

We can’t wait to start prepping for our next Slumber Pawty, it was so much fun for a cause we are all incredibly passionate about here in WNC.

Join us for our upcoming events too! We will be at the Dog Day Afternoon Event on May 4th and we will be hosting the Spring Fling Community Pet Event at Haywood Spay & Neuter! See you there!!!!
