Wow! What an incredible event we had on May 18th for our first ever Community Microchip Event.

All we can say is, that was a BLAST! Last weekend we gave 50 cats and dogs microchips for $10 each, and SNAP/EBT members got them for free!

We had the amazing and kind Heal House Call Veterinarian- Dr. Jordyn Sthay administer the chips with our Adoptions Coordinator Courtney Trethric and Veterinary Tech JoDesa Carter holding, giving treats and loves to each animal that came through the door.

Behavior Tails, LLC – Dog Training & Behavior Consulting was there to help calm and make the animals feel safe before they entered the building. Without them, it would have not gone so dang smooth! That’s for sure.

Thank you Bonnie and Scarlett of Haywood Spay & Neuter for organizing all the microchips for the entire event and making quick work of each walk-in too! Plus our Executive Director Jess Metcalf who processed payments and exiting paperwork so everyone knew how to register their chips.

This was our new Event Coordinator, Ellyse Trethric’s first large scale event and we were blown away by how well organized and how smooth this event went. Welcome on board Ellyse!

And last but not least, THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS who came and made this event go off without a hitch. Your kindness, calmness and passion for helping animals in our community has no bounds.

We are so excited to host our next event community giving event, which will likely be for vaccinations in a few months!!!
